Went to test out AWS’ EC2 in hope for a low cost render farm without success

After spending a day or two trying to both learn and test render using AWS’ virtualization machines called EC2, It seems I am essentially back where I started out. Of all web related setups I have had to work on, I find AWS’ setups to be one of the most challenging ones. After progressing so far as getting actual rendered frames, It seems EC2 is still not the way to go. Well this option was Read more…

Story audios to be hopefully redone using real human voice

As of today, all story audios are done using the TTS engine acquired sometime back. While it fills the gap quite failry, I must own that using real human voice-overs should do even more justice to pronouncation, tone and well as audibility. Having had no success capturing hopeful audios thereof locally (due to either want of a worthy device or skilll), I am contemplating more paid voice-over services (have seen some offers as low-priced as Read more…

Infrastructural tasks shelved until further notices

With regard to website infrastructuctures, much of what needed little to no direct financial expenditure have I fairly attempted to date (with the exception of proof reading as a lot of creative writing was necessary and I have yet to wrap proof reading). However due to my current monthly obligations, I feel I must shelf what can wait (that requires direct financial expenditures) for whenever there should be a disposable budget. Which tasks are the Read more…

Been trying to adapt the new assets to recent test animation

Ever since acquired, I have at sundry times worked towards adapting the same humanoid assets to the recently done test animation. I have not been able to test render the whole at fair resolution but the assets seems to complementary each other quite fairly. And bridges very well the gap I feared the previously used ones were evidently leaving. For the time being, I should test render on the desktop on hand. But hopefully commit Read more…

Hope for an affordable render service option

When hope on affordable cloud/online render farms was pretty much lost, I came to be aware of one service that offers, amongst others, a $35/m price plan which proves to be quite affordable for current circumstances. A monthy price plan meaning that multiple projects can be rendered inbetween at no extra charge. There indeed exist a set limit on projects complexity but that looks way over the average complexity level on current animation projects – Read more…

Homemade 2D vector art mainly for kids stories

Often time lately, I have opted to creating needed image art locally for one of a couple of reasons. First off, I reckoned image art would not only complement the Kids short stories but should on their own be fun to preview for little ones. And below are various reasons that have often times moved me to consider mumbling an image art myself. In the past I have used ready rendered frames images while other Read more…

Some 3 site structural changes I wish to effect

Merging the Journal subdomain with Communications: Not only should this help in cutting down work involved in managing multiple sites but also to help bring together these two content types that seem a lot alike (for the reader’s convenience). Upgrade the current medium tier shared hosting plan to perhaps large. The current plan was never an issue as there was essentially no traffic (nor could any thronging be rationally anticipation) – but lately, as I Read more…

Typical Toy arrogances that will vex or lead to stumbling

Amongst our aspired Christian-friendly centered projects is the curating/creating  of toys that should complement a Christian parent’s earthly pilgrimage. Toys that should be free of a fallen man’s arrogances, amongst other vanities. These we shall both labour to curate from existing toys supplies as well as mobilizing a custom manufacturing of toys designed as per our blue prints. And then futher labour to make these available at possibly subsidised prices (including shipping). We expect to Read more…

Recently acquired 3D humanoid family set

Despite the simplicity that the 3D humanoid assets here certainly offered, a need became that brought me to consider replacing them. I admit feeling their limblessness would potentially make it hard to relate to the viewer’s life but again felt it was all I could afford at the time. This mindset continued until my older son (who was at the time not new to animations based on the same assets) asked me where their hands Read more…

Considering to register the work as a Faith-Based NPO

NB. A post script added in blue towards the bottom of the page I got to carry out the purposed study and now feel I better understand how availing a legal identity should be more beneficial – NPO to be specific. Yes it appears that the Trust under which Mr Muller operated the orphanage also falls under NPOs here in South Africa. Unfortunately, the process of registering an NPO in the country takes upto two Read more…

My mind on YouTube and Christianity

N.B Post has a post script at the bottom Any enlightened eye that have had occasion to consider will agree with me that YouTube is for the most part not Christian friendly – despite that that it can be quite resourceful at times. Now while I would rather that Christians setup and keep their own curate list of Christian friendly informative and leasure videos, I understand that some may be compelled to depend a little Read more…

Committing to proofread all text based content

As accounted on the communication post here, virtually all past publications were done in rather haste. And one of the areas that suffered as a result of the said fact was proofreading of text publications. And hence errors, omissions and prhaps inconsistencies would often be noted here and there. Well, while any enlightened eye would still be able to discern earnestness from virtually all such publications, inconsistencie are never complimentary. But again as hoped on Read more…

3D texturing recently looked at and tried out

On earlier 3D animation work, I had deliberately overlooked the use of textures (both image as well as procedural) whenever I felt I could. This was so because 1. It is an extra/additinal step on its own and leaving it out and simply using basic coloring saves time. 2. I had not really gotten to have a good look at how exactly texturing is done. 3. It can be resource intensive and as a results Read more…

My mind on public television and Christianity

Overview While much is often said and discussed, I am fully persuated that the foregoing is one of the rational ways to look at the subject of television and Christianity. And then to be able tell if TV is to be at all a Christian’s portion. To best present my position, I reckon I should first draw the reader’s attention to the following sad facts about humanity. That until a man’s will is subject to Read more…

Christian friendly loop taxi game attempted

I lately desired to and also went on to attempt a simple loop taxi game. As with all attempted games to date (and ever going on I expect), Christian friendliness had to make up the cornerstone. Hence I took much care in choosing of the humanoid fare sprite. Also, the taxi composition had to shun well away from vanities such as super sized wheels and fiery vinyl The engine speed also had/has to be tamed Read more…
